The Importance of Regular Oral Healthcare

90% of all systemic diseases have oral manifestations, signs and symptoms; including diabetes, pancreatic cancer, heart disease and kidney disease.

Poor oral health has been linked to pneumonia in older adults. By breathing in bacterial droplets from the mouth to the lungs, older adults are more susceptible to the condition.

Medications, or treatments that reduce saliva flow, and antibiotics that disrupt the normal balance of bacteria in your mouth can also compromise your mouth's normal defenses, allowing these bacteria to enter your bloodstream.

When teeth are lost and not replaced with false teeth, the rest of the teeth have a tendency to drift and shift into open spaces creating an uneven jawbone, which in turn can create appearance and bite issues.

Digestion begins with physical and chemical processes in the mouth, and problems here can lead to intestinal failure, irritable bowel syndrome and other digestive disorders.

Our Company

District Mobile Dental is a Gaithersburg, Maryland based concierge oral healthcare company providing on demand in-residence dental services in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Our goal is to remove barriers to care by bringing modern portable dental equipment into your home and providing care where it is most safe, comfortable and accessible. Our Chief Dental Officer, Dr. Gerry Dubin, is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine with over thirty years of family private practice experience. Responding to a loved one’s need for better access to care, Dr. Dubin and his family created District Mobile Dental in 2011 with a specific focus in caring for older adults and those with disabilities.

Client Benefits

Access the care you need at a time convenient for your schedule with on demand services.

Relax without the need to arrange for transportation to receive care.

Save money. With access to regular care, you can avoid expensive emergency oral concerns.

Understand the state of your oral health. Using digital x-rays and the information gathered from your comprehensive exam, you will understand any existing conditions and necessary treatments.

Avoid disease. Poor oral health has been linked to systemic diseases such as kidney disease, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and more. Receiving regular care can reduce these risks.

Reduce stress, fear, and anxiety by receiving care in a private, familiar and safe environment, without the noise of a traditional dental office.

Remove your risk of a fall with our home visits. Falls are the leading cause of fatal injury among older adults. You have the option of receiving the same quality care in your wheelchair or bed if the need arises.

Trust in your oral healthcare provider. Communication with clients and family members is of the utmost importance. Treatment will be performed only when you have signed an authorization outlining treatment and any associated fees. Every effort is made to follow treatment with a phone call to any responsible parties with a progress report.

Senior Living Community Benefits

Easy to arrange care without a minimum number of residents necessary to provide care.

Save on staff time needed to transport residents to and from appointments.

Market a greater convenience by offering oral healthcare in the comfort and safety of the community.

Create a healthier community lifestyle. Oral health is the gateway to overall health. Good oral health can improve quality of life, while poor oral health has been linked to an increased risk of diabetes, heart disease and more.

Understand your residents’ health better. We recognize the importance of communication with clients, family members and the places they reside before and after treatment. Every effort is made to follow treatment with progress notes for the community and a phone call to responsible parties with a progress report.

Avoid oral emergencies at your community by recommending regular oral care for residents. In case of emergency we typically provide care within 24 hours.

Reduce your number of falls with less trips out of the community. Residents will receive care in their private residence and have the option of receiving care in their bed or wheelchair if the need arises.
